Join us for an informal lunch and discussion about life and current events in Syria.
The discussion is free and open to the public. Lunch is available for purchase across the street at Conflict Kitchen.
With special guests:
Dr. Basel Termanini is Chapter President of the Syrian American Medical Society in Pittsburgh. Dr. Termanini was born and grew up in Aleppo, Syria. He has lived in Pittsburgh for 16 years and has visited his home country almost every summer with his family.
Laila Al-Soulaiman is a Syrian-American activist and artist. She currently studies political science, Arabic, and public service at the University of Pittsburgh. She currently works for the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh to develop a refugee support and resettlement program.
Dr. Samer Al-Nabhan is from Aleppo, Syria, he came to the US 10 yrs ago and works in the Department of Medicine at Shadyside Hospital.
